Engraved and Presented to Sister C.Bavington on Dec 28, 1937. Meticulously inscribed on the reverse: "Independent Order of Odd fellows Manchester Unity" on front; Rear engraving reads "Presented to Sister C V Bavington by the Loyal Hope Lodge Dec 28th 1937". Back of medal has three English silver hallmarks and the Initials F & S of Frank Fattorini & Sons.
The beautifully embellished enameled bar at the top of the ribbons has two English Silver hallmarks. Medal/Ribbon comes in its original ruby velvet presentation case. The lower sterling medal has three English silver marks of an "Anchor" a "Lion" and an "N" and to the left is inscribed "F&S" ("Frank Fattorini & Sons") who had shops in Bradford, London, Birmingham, Skipton, Harrogate, Yorkshire, Sheffield, Glasgow from 1929 through the Mid-20th Century. (the shop was founded by Antonio Fattorini in 1829; Antonio was born in 1797 and died in 1860). All subsequent branches were managed and owned by Fattorini Family Members and their heirs. Frank Fattorini & Sons were of Italian descent and English Retailers specializing in gold and silver jewelry, medals, shields, trophies, cups, badges, sterling condiment containers, fob medals, fruit knives, souvenir spoons, tea services, trophy cups, plaques, and sterling watch cases to name a few.The sterling silver designs on this stunning medal are beautifully enameled in red white blue and gold gilt with F & S Birmingham Silver Hallmarks. The case has a ruby velvet and satin interior showcasing this gorgeous sterling silver enameled medal with Purple and Red Striped Ribbon.
