FOR SALE SOVIET RUSSIA PERIOD SOLID SILVER ORDER, M. Service to the Homeland in the Soviet Armed Forces. This is a heavy silver and enamel order first awarded in 1976. Consists of two four pointed stars.

Crossed at right angles, the top 41mm star having the vertical and horizontal points. The bottom 47mm star was enameled light blue with two crossed silver rockets. The top multi-rayed star has, at its center, a circular medallion containing a five pointed silver star within an oak wreath, surrounded by a white enameled ribbon with the Cyrillic inscription: "For Service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR", and the image of the hammer and sickle at the bottom.

The central medallion was superimposed over an oxidized silver anchor and wings protruding from the top, bottom and both sides. All enamels fine and undamaged. When these become available, which is not very often, they are usually unissued remainders. This original issued piece is a rare exception to the rule.

PERFECT condition, enamel is PERFECT & intact. This order was awarded to career officers. Also often for service in Afghanistan. SIZE: 65 mm FROM POINT TO POINT. HE ENAMEL CIRCLE IS - 24 mm DIAMETER.
